Sobek Devotional Update: Permission to Publish forms have been sent out!

Let me know if you didn’t get one, or feel you should have got one if you sent me something for the devotional and for whatever reason I didn’t get back to you when you did.

If you did get one, fill it in and send it back asap. I can’t publish your submissions without that form being signed and returned to me.

Sobek Devotional Update: Last Minute Submission Requests

Okay, since I meant to do this a couple of weeks ago, but Life etc, and I’ve had a couple of queries today about submissions, I just wanted to let you know that, yes, the book is going ahead, and I am still working on it. I haven’t quite decided on the cover art yet, and there’s a couple of little things I need to fix up, but it’s going ahead.

I am currently compiling the manuscript, so if you still have any last-minute submissions, you’ve got til Jan 31st to get them in. I might be able to extend that by a couple of weeks if you really need it, but I would like to finalise the manuscript by Feb 14, so I can’t guarantee anything I get past that date will make it in. It probably won’t. So don’t hang about if you still want to submit something!

Anyone wanting to make late submissions, please email sobekdevotionalATgmail.com to let me know I need to wait on you, and what you are planning to submit, so I can pencil in where it might fit as I work on finishing the manuscript. This is absolutely your last chance to get something included in the devotional, so please get in touch sooner rather than later.

Yes, you heard it. Now NaNo’s over, I can devote all my creative energy to getting this thing finished. So, this is your ONE MONTH LEFT* warning, so if you’re planning to submit to the devotional, do so before DECEMBER 31ST!

This is a stupid busy time for everyone, regardless of what holidays you celebrate, so if it’s on your list of things to do, send your submissions in sooner rather than later to make sure they get in on time. I’d love to make this devotional anthology a success, and I need your submissions to make that happen.

Spread the word and make sure you get involved. This is gonna be one amazing anthology, and I’d hate for anyone to miss out on being a part of it. ❤

Hopefully, once this is over, and I have enough submissions to carry on, I can stop nagging you all for things and get back to my regular posting, which I have been terrible at for the past couple of months. I should update you about that at some point. Sorry. It’s been a weird end of the year and I need to figure out how to talk about that in coherent ways. :/

Sobek Devotional PSA: Send your submissions in!

We’re closing in on the last six weeks-ish or so of the submission period, so if you’ve been working on submissions, or been thinking about it, now’s the time to send them in! Submissions will close on Dec 31st!

I’ve had a few more submissions in over the last month, including one short story, but I need more! Send in your art, your stories, your essays, your rituals, whatever you want, as long as it’s a devotional piece about Sobek.

If you need ideas, or are looking for inspiration, feel free to browse the 30 Days of Sobek posts, or the blog here in general, and see if anything takes your fancy. ❤

October and Sobek Devotional Updates

So, it’s been a bit of a quiet month. I’ve been working through some more personal work, and my self-transformation stuff with Quanyin. I am also now a Sau apprentice, which is a course I’ve wanted to study for over a decade now. So between that, my new work schedule, potential covenmeet stuff and new witchy friends, and my 108 prayers, I’ve had a busy month. Hopefully, I will post a bit more this month, now that things are beginning to settle down.

In terms of the Sobek Devotional, I am still looking for more submissions! I have received one essay (that I need to edit), and one piece of art, this month, but I still need more. So if you’re planning to submit anything, please let me know, and get working on it. We’re at the halfway point now. Submissions will close at the end of the year, so don’t put it off! I really want this devotional to succeed, but I can’t do that without your help!
